Tour Itinerary
This tour starts off as early as 5:00 am, for a 2 hours drive to Volcanoes national park, home to endangered mountain gorillas. You will have breakfast on arrival and head out for briefing at the park headquarters by 8:30am before heading in the forest to track the gorillas. The trek may last from 2-8 hours depending on the movements of the gentle giants. On return, your driver will drive you back to Kigali for drop off at your hotel or at the airport for scheduled flight back home.
In Rwanda mountain gorillas live in Volcanoes National Park which is located west of Kigali city, Rwanda’s capital. The drive to the park is 2 hours filled with scenic views – viewing the beautiful mountains and green forests, which gave Rwanda its name as the “land of a thousand hills.”
Finally meeting the mountain gorillas can take from minutes to hours depending on where the gorillas decide to rest from the previous day.
You have to be in position to choose the best gorilla group you will be able to track whether medium, easy or hard trek.
