Tour Itinerary
Day 1: ARRIVAL
On your arrival at Kigali international airport, You will be met and greeted by our safari guide/driver gets you briefed about the safari and later drive you to Rwanda / Congo (DRC) border – Grande Barriére (La Corniche ). Our guide will assist you to clear with customs and later cross border to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Continue on to Goma for lunch and after transfer to Virunga national Park for dinner and an overnight at Budget – Caritas Hotel BB, Mid-Range – Lake Kivu Lodge BB, luxury – Mikeno Lodge FB
Day 2: gorilla trekking in Virunga
Have an early breakfast and then after depart to the park headquarters on the starting point to receive short briefings about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas and also gets you assigned to gorilla family. After finalizing with park formalities, we embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Tracking is quite challenging so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed as well as tracking gears, as meeting them is unpredictable it can go from a half to full day. These massive primates are extremely rare, with less than 900 living today. Ounce they are met you strictly allowed only one hour with them while observing their behaviors as well as taking photography. After come back to the lodge for lunch in the evening if you have energy, we can have a visit to the pygmies (mbuti) and return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Budget – Caritas Hotel BB, Mid-Range – Lake Kivu Lodge BB, luxury Mikeno Lodge FB
Day3. Cross the Border to Rwanda.
In the morning after a hearty breakfast, you will be transferred back to Gisenyi and later to Kigali for a city tour if time allows visit places like the memorials site, national museum and later transfer to the airport to meet your departure flight back if scheduled on the same day.
