Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up for Kigali City tour and, transfer to Gisenyi.
You will be picked up by our company tour guide/driver from your hotel early in the morning after breakfast and driven for a Kigali city tour. Places to visit include the Gisozi genocide memorial, Nyamata church, cultural sites and local markets among many other interesting places around, have lunch with in the city and after, you will be driven to the northern part of Rwanda to Gisenyi, viewing remarkable scenery of the Virunga Mountains en-route. Arrive at the Lake Kivu in the evening; you may go for a boat cruise up to the hot springs. Dinner and overnight stay at (luxury) Kivu Serena Hotel / (Deluxe) Gorillas hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to DR. Congo Nyiragongo Hike.
Enjoy a morning breakfast at the lodge/hotel and then after you will be driven to Rwanda –DR. Congo border with a fantastic drive all through, after finalizing with the border crossing requirement, we will continue to Kibatsi village where the hiking of the mountain starts from, have lunch and later continue with the hike to the top of Nyiragongo mountain, which has magnificent views as you hike to the top, you will have an overnight and dinner at the top of the mountain.
Day 3: Descent the volcano and drive back to Volcanoes NP.
On this day you will first have a morning breakfast and then after descend the volcano and cross back to Rwanda a home of a thousand hills up to Volcanoes NP. You will arrive in time at the lodge for lunch and in the evening; you may enjoy a cultural walk to Iby’wachu, they will entertain you through their cultural song s and music and if interested you can join them and also interact with them. Dinner and an overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/La palme Hotel (Deluxe)/Muhabura Hotel (Budget).
Day 4 Gorilla tracking in volcanoes national park and community walk
After breakfast at the lodge, you will report to the park headquarters in Kinigi to receive short briefings about gorilla tracking and also gets you assigned to the gorilla family and a ranger guide. After, you will escort the ranger guide deep to the forest to begin the gorilla tracking activity one of the most adventurous safaris activities on earth. Gorilla tracking is unpredictable since meeting them depend on where they spent their last night from , however, it can go from 1-8 hours in the jungle while searching them, so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed as well as tracking gears like sturdy pairs of walking shoes/boots, long sleeved shirts and blouses , bottled water and sometimes packed lunch.

Day 5: Dian Fossey hike and transfer back to Kigali.
With a relatively early breakfast, you will report to the park headquarters for a short briefing and then after go to the Karioske area of the park and visit the graveyard of a dominant primatologist Dian Fossy who is known for habituating these giant apes (mountain gorillas) to human standards for a period of over 18 years, she was killed by poachers since she was against their act of poaching, she was buried in the volcanoes forest near her friend gorilla Digit, and many other mountain gorillas that had killed by sneers set by poachers or disease after On your return, you will be driven back to Kigali and later to the airport to meet your departure flight back home
