3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
You will be picked up by our safari tour guide/driver at the lodge after breakfast and then drive you to the south western part of Uganda to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to the endangered mountain gorillas. We will have stopovers at any interesting places like at the drum making areas and at the equator crossing for photography and snacks, then after you will proceed to Mbarara for lunch. After the one hour lunch break, you will continue through the beautiful scenery referred to as the ‘’Switzerland of Africa’’ will be a big sight as you cross the vast country side, you will arrive at Bwindi national park in the evening either at Ruhija or Buhoma. Check into your booked accommodation for as you wait for dinner and overnight at: at (Luxury) Buhoma Lodge/ Chameleon Hill Lodge (midrange) Mahogany Lodge/ Engagi Lodge/ Silverback Lodge / Gorilla Mist Camp, (budget) Ruhija Gorilla Friends Camp or Travellers Rest Hotel, or Buhoma Community Campground
Day 2: Gorilla tracking and Nature walk
After breakfast you will be briefed by a ranger guide on how you will successfully carry out gorilla tracking as you penetrate the thick forest for the rare mountain gorilla in their natural setting. With packed lunch, battled water, jacket, you will enter the forest following the animal trails, while in the forest, you may be able to view other animals like buffaloes, black-fronted duiker, leopards, giant forest hog, and the rare golden monkeys plus also bird and butterfly among others.
The time taken to track these species is unpredictable as it can go from a half to full day depending on a gorilla family, so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed as well as tracking gears like sturdy pair of walking shoes/boots, trekking sometimes involves passing through muddy and steep slopes. Ounce gorillas are met you strictly allowed only one hour with them while taking photography as well as studding their behaviors. After return to the lodge, if the evening is free go for a community walk. Day 3: Departure
After breakfast, depending on your departure flight, you will be driven back to Kampala/hotel/airport to meet your departure flight back home.
